What My Photography Style Really Looks Like

Photography is so much more than perfectly posed smiles.

For me, it’s about emotion. Movement. Storytelling. The quiet moments in between.

Over the last year, I’ve slowly watched my style evolve into something that feels more cinematic, more intentional, and more emotionally connected than ever before.

When people ask what kind of photographer I am, I never really know how to answer in one sentence — because I don’t just want to take beautiful photos.

I want people to feel something when they look at them.

Drawn to Emotion Over Perfection

Some of my favorite images are the ones that aren’t perfectly posed at all.

The laugh right before someone looks away.

The wind catching a dress.

A quiet expression.

A blurry movement shot that somehow says more than a perfectly sharp image ever could.

I’m drawn to images that feel alive.

That’s why my sessions are relaxed and guided naturally instead of overly stiff or forced. I want my clients to feel comfortable enough to actually be themselves.

Because that’s where the magic happens.

Inspired by Cinema, Storytelling, and Real Life

A lot of my editing style is inspired by films, storytelling, soft light, and emotion.

I love warm highlights, rich shadows, movement, and images that feel almost like a still frame from a movie.

I’m less interested in creating “perfect” photos and more interested in creating photographs that feel timeless.

The kind of images people come back to years later and still emotionally connect with.

Every Session Should Feel Personal

Whether I’m photographing:

a senior session,

a formal,

a portrait session,

or eventually weddings,

my goal is always the same:

To tell your story honestly.

Not every gallery should look identical. I want each session to reflect the personality, energy, and emotion of the people in front of my camera.

Some sessions feel dreamy and romantic.

Some feel bold and cinematic.

Some feel soft and emotional.

That’s what makes storytelling so meaningful to me.

The Direction I’m Growing Toward

As I continue growing as a photographer, I’m leaning even further into:

cinematic storytelling

emotional imagery

artistic composition

natural movement

and authentic connection

I want my work to feel like memories instead of poses.

And honestly, I think that’s exactly where my heart has always been creatively.

Thank You for Being Here

If you’ve trusted me to photograph your memories — thank you.

Every single session helps shape me creatively and pushes me closer to the kind of storytelling photographer I want to become.

And if you’re someone looking for photos that feel emotional, cinematic, and true to you, I would absolutely love to create something together.
